Everheld Collective is the evolution of a lifelong devotion to care, healing, and presence - at life’s most profound thresholds.

For more than thirty years, I worked in many different medical/hospital settings and in medical research consulting. In my various roles, I’ve been able to witness both the immense power - and also the limitations - of modern medicine. Time spent working with patients and staff in various care settings, taught me much about what tends to matter most to people, in their most tender moments - in life and in death.

Many years in the research realm gave me a realization that all of us, at any given moment, are likely struggling with the weight of something - be that the often relentless stress of everyday life and workload - or something much deeper and harder to carry. Working with psychiatric patients gave me a strong sense of how we all long to be understood - by others and by ourselves. My time working in critical care often placed me at the bedside of those fighting for each breath - and of some, as they took their last. Holding the hands of the dying brought me to a deep respect and awareness of the transition that occurs, at death. It was humbling, ineffable, profound. To me, it could only really be described in words I had heard others use to describe the witnessing of a birth.

Simultaneously with my hospital work, I spent time as a hospice volunteer, which taught me about a very different approach to death and dying, from what I often saw in the clinical setting. These experiences - and countless others - taught me that healing and cure are two very different things and that true and meaningful healing can occur, at any time and under virtually any circumstance. It extends beyond the physical body— it touches the heart, the spirit, and the sacred journey of being human.

Over many years and guided by this understanding, I was drawn to the study of many diverse forms of complementary medicine, such as herbalism, reiki, energy work, meditation and mindfulness, therapeutic massage and other holistic practices. As a Reiki Master and energy worker, I embrace the subtle ways that Life Force and Intention can help people feel seen, supported, held and whole. I always did my best to carry that spirit through my decades-long career in medical research consulting and management, as well as throughout my personal life. My goal, even when working in office settings or remotely, was to make sure people knew they were being heard, seen and supported. I can say, with some certainty, that it made all the difference.

Eventually, I realized that my research career was not quite the right fit for me, anymore. So, I went back to school to become a licensed massage therapist, learning the art of skilled and compassionate touch, that eases pain and restores balance. I trained to become a Birth Doula and End-of-Life Doula. I came to understand that my calling is not just to provide care, but to hold space for Life’s beginnings, endings, and so many moments of transformation, in between the bookends of Life.

Everheld Collective is the weaving together of this collection of threads—medical knowledge, clinical experience, intuitive touch, spiritual presence and so much more. I’ve created it to be sanctuary for those seeking not only relief and comfort, but also meaning and connection. Whether through therapeutic massage, energy work, birth doula care, or end-of-life support, Everheld exists to remind each person with whom I have to honor to work, that they are never alone on their path—that they are, in every moment, ever held.

As with all of our lives, I’m sure that Everheld Collective will be an ever-evolving story. I’m so excited to see where it takes me - and all of us - next…
